Our Clergy
Meet the team dedicated to serving our community.

Rector
The Ven. Mark Spratt serves as Rector of St George’s Anglican Church, White River, and as Archdeacon of the Escarpment in the Anglican Diocese of Mpumalanga. As rector he leads the parish in worship, preaching, teaching, and pastoral care, and works closely with the churchwardens and council to steward the mission and ministry of St George’s. In his archdeaconry role he assists the Bishop by supporting clergy, fostering collaboration between congregations, and helping to ensure good governance and healthy parish life across the Escarpment region.

Assistant Priest
Ministry runs in my family—my father was a Reverend in the American Board Mission and my father-in-law a priest in the Anglican Church. I came to the Highveld in 1997 and served at St Michael and All Angels in Nelspruit for over 20 years as a lay minister, deacon, and ordained priest. I joined St George's in January this year. My calling is service. I conduct the Eucharist service for our older members on Tuesdays and preside on Sundays when Reverend Mark is unavailable. I love St George's stone building and altar, the ever-green gardens, and the quiet bench for reflection.
